Challenge to solve
Montreal West Island Integrated University Health and Social Services Centre's DEI Strategic Committee faced a number of challenges in their mission: an understanding of the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion (DEI) that needed to be broadened and formalized, and a need to mobilize the committee, which was often overwhelmed by other pressing organizational priorities. Also, despite a multitude of DEI initiatives already in place, CIUSSS had not yet developed a clear vision aligned with organizational objectives. There was therefore a need to establish a strategic posture to reinforce trust and mobilization. For all these reasons, Montreal West Island Integrated University Health and Social Services Centre wanted to strengthen and equip its DEI strategic committee.
