10 weeks in Canada to help women in tech

Quitting your job and setting off on an adventure with no guarantee of success – that’s what these three women did. They did it for you, women in tech!

In September 2017, Women in Tech World co-founders Alicia Close, Elena Yugai and Melanie Ewan set out on a mission to conduct a cross-Canada survey of women in technology. They boarded an RV and began their tour in Vancouver. They even passed through Montreal in the summer of 2017. They ended their journey in Newfoundland.

Director of Community Research and co-captain of this cross-Canada tour, Melanie Ewan, explains that it was the trip of a lifetime. “It was an opportunity to be part of something that really makes an impact for women in Canada. It was about connecting with members of the community and giving them the opportunity to talk about what’s happening back home.”
